Pori Society of Artists
The Pori Society of Artists is an active society of about 80 artists that work in the area of Satakunta.
The society was founded in 1947 and it is based in the city of Pori.
In May 2006 the Pori Society of Artists opened a new gallery located in the central of the city of Pori. Find out about the upcoming exhibitions in Portait'S galleria!
The Pori Society of Artists offers artists a possibility to work and live in Pori. The Portait Residency is annually open to one or two visual artists in Nordic and Baltic countries. During the Portait Residency artist can work and orientate to local atmosphere and the unique delta area of the Kokemäenjoki River. It is also possible to exhibit in the Gallery during the time of residency.
The Portait Residence is situated in a heart of Pori. The rest of the year the space is one of Pori´s well know galleries, Portait Art Gallery. The Gallery is maintained by the Pori Society of Artists.
The gallery consists of one big space, which is possible to divide to two parts. The bedroom is sufficiently furnished for the stay during the period of the residency.

Due to the end of March by the application form. Application should include a working plan, Curriculum Vitae and documentation of the recent art works. Application form is downloaded from website of can be ordered from the Pori Society of Artists.
